Who Are We:

Direct Couriers is a privately-owned transport company that has been operating a point to point courier and taxi truck business in the Australian market for over 40 years. We have branches in five Australian states and  Auckland, New Zealand. 

The Role:

The Junior Despatch Allocator must be a proactive and cooperative team player who displays excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills. They must be responsible, able to prioritise tasks, have a high level of attention to detail and organisational skills. A sense of initiative, urgency, flexibility, reliability and timeliness is crucial to be successful in this role. They must be analytical, have a good memory and work in a systematic and logical manner. Patience and the ability to handle difficult situations with both staff and drivers and resolve all issues in a calm and professional manner is imperative.

Duties include:

Despatching jobs to our courier and taxi truck fleet
Monitoring jobs and communicating with drivers, customers and internal staff
Maximising use of vehicles for their pick-up and deliveries
Monitoring and revising work schedules as required throughout the day
Problem solving with customers and drivers

Applicants must:

Be computer literate with experience using an electronic despatch system
Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Have high level analytical skills with an eye for detail
Be solutions focussed
Works well in a team environment
Be Health & Safety focussed in regard to driver safety
Have a strong knowledge of the Brisbane metro area
