The management and staff at Direct Couriers are committed to meeting their Environmental Health and Safety responsibilities by minimising the impact of their operations on the environment. This ensures that the current business needs are met without compromising environmental health for future generations.

Employees of Direct Couriers are responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable EH&S laws and regulations, as well as with the Company's related policies, standards and guidelines. Management is also responsible for ensuring that employees and others acting on the behalf of Direct Couriers are appropriately educated and trained in these laws and policies.

At Direct Couriers, we are committed to reducing our ecological footprint.

We aim to do this by:

  • Reducing running costs
  • Waste minimisation
  • Pollution reduction
  • Energy efficiency improvement

In order to achieve these commitments, we actively:

  • Purchase equipment with a high energy efficiency rating.
  • Participate in training and education programs to manage environmental health and safety risks.
  • Communicate with management and employees about working conditions perceived to be unsafe or hazardous, and as appropriate, shut down any operation that is operating in an unsafe condition.
  • Ensure appropriate use of alternate fuels.
  • Ensure regular servicing and/or turnover of Company vehicles in the fleet.
  • Ensure recycling of printer cartridges.
  • Source and cooperate with environmentally friendly suppliers.
  • Meet or exceed all environmental and health legislation that relates to the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain methods of evaluating our EH&S performance for continual improvement.
  • Engender a culture of sustainability throughout the organisation.
  • Recycle consumable office products where possible.
  • Recycle waste paper and shredded reports.
  • Print internal and external documents double sided wherever possible.
