> Direct 2009 FINALIST
The annual Australian Supply Chain & Logistics Awards were presented by the Supply Chain Logistics Association of Australia at the Eureka Towers, Melbourne, on 12th November.
Direct Couriers entered the Training, Education and Development Award category. This award recognises significant achievement in any aspect of training, education, or the development of people which is relevant to Supply Chain and Logistics. Our award submission focussed on our Regulated Air Cargo training program.
In July 2009, the Direct Couriers Group achieved accreditation as a Regulated Air Cargo Agent Training Organisation (RACATO). Our aim is to deliver company specific training and assessment on the RACA 1 competencies – Following Air Cargo Security Awareness Procedures – to members of the Direct Couriers Group.
We invested time and resources towards becoming a RACATO so that we could:
- Personalise our training to the Direct Couriers environment ensuring maximum relevance to our team
- Deliver the program in our own timeframe
- Design the program to best meet our audience
We were announced as one of six finalists for the Training, Education and Development Award. Although we weren’t winners on the night, we are proud to be acknowledged as award finalists in a year that attracted an extremely high and diverse number of entries in every category.
