> Direct scoops the award!

The annual Australian
Supply Chain & Logistics Excellence Awards (ASCLA) is widely considered the
most prestigious and influential awards in the Australian Logistics industry.
Held at the Sofitel Hotel in Brisbane on November 13th, the awards were proudly
presented by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILTA) and the
Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA).
Direct Couriers
entered in the highly competitive Information Management Category. To be considered
for this award, companies had to display significant achievement in the use of
communications, information management, technology or e-business in any aspect
of Supply Chain and Logistics management. Particular emphasis was given to the
added value produced by the achievement.
The Direct Couriers submission centred
on information management and how this can assist clients who use our fleet management
service in two key areas:
- Day to day fleet management utilising
Direct Couriers Vehicle Tracking Interface.
- Assessing the efficiency and
effectiveness of a fleet using Direct Couriers reporting systems.
Named as a finalist
amongst such companies as Black & White Cabs, Inside Info, Polar Fresh and
Australian Air Express, Direct Couriers was proud and excited to be announced
the 2008 winner of this prestigious award.
